Oliver Gaines: A Retrospective

Since Oliver just celebrated his half-birthday, we thought it seemed appropriate to take a look back and see how he's grown in his first six months.

Oliver 6 Months

At six months, Oliver has quite a little personality. He is very happy, curious and determined. Once Oliver set his sights on the 6 month sign he was determined to eat it, try as we might to distract him, it was to no avail.

Looking Good, Oliver! Feeling Good, Mom!

Oliver got his first big cold from daycare last week and he got it bad. Poor kid was not happy. Turns out he had an ear infection among other things and is now on the pink amoxicillin - same stuff from when John and I were kids. Oliver didn't know what to think of the bubble gum taste at first but now he loves it. He's really been feeling under the weather all week, just wanting to rest his head and hardly any smiles. I picked him up from daycare this afternoon and I knew right away we had our sweet little boy back. He was all smiles and so happy again.

Bath Time is Favorite Time

Oliver loves taking his bath - it gives him an opportunity to show off his kicking and splashing skills. Last night after the bath he was so happy and cute, we had to pull out the camera.

Oliver Makes New Friends

This past weekend our friends, Cass and Adam invited us to their house in New Hampshire with their dogs, Poncho and Lefty who are 2 french bulldogs. For the first time, Oliver took notice of dogs and it was love at first sight! These little creatures were so furry and friendly and the same size as him! Oliver was really excited.

It was a looooong day!

Oliver's day started with playing on his activity mat, then our friends Cass and Adam came over to play, then he went for a walk around the pond and THEN he went downstairs to play with his friend Roman, it was a looonnnng day! And he's pooped!

Oliver 5 months

He's getting bigger and bigger- at five months, Oliver weighs about 15 and a half pounds!
